Egyptian Court has overturned the First Democratically Elected President Morsi’s death sentence. Mohamed Morsi and several leaders of Muslim Brotherhood were sentenced to death penalty in June 2015 by Court of Cassation, Egypt.

Several human rights groups have raised concerns that, the trail is highly biased and politically motivated. The military dictatorship of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi toppled the democratically elected government of Mohamed Morsi and outlawed the ruling party of Muslim Brotherhood. Since then, Sisi’s regime has targeted and persecuted members of Muslim Brotherhood including Morsi, the then President of Egypt.
