Over 50 civilians have been killed in a truck bomb attack in the city of Qamishli, a Syrian-Kurdish town on the border of Turkey. The death toll might rise significantly as several hundred are wounded in the attack. As per the local media reports, two suicide bombers carried out the attacks. The first attack was carried out by a large truck loaded with explosives and second one by a motorcycle.  This is the deadliest attack on Qamishli town.

The city of Qamishli is managed by US backed Kurdish YPG forces, while the city airport is still controlled by the Syrian Regime. With the help of US air support, Kurdish YPG forces have been most effective in pushing Islamic State back from the Kurdish populated regions.

Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack in Qamishli, describing it as an attack on Kurdish Offices.
