An aircraft AN-32 belonging to Indian Air Force has gone missing in Bay of Bengal today. The aircraft has 29 on-board including members of Indian Navy and Air Force. The aircraft was headed to Port Blair from Tambaram airbase near Chennai, however lost contact with the command control around 15 minutes after take-off.

Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Coast Guard has started the massive search across the region of interest.  Since the aircraft has military personnel on-board, who are well trained for landing in waters, there is scope for survivors.

As per the aviation analysts, weather could have played a major role in bringing down the aircraft.

More details will be updated as we get more information.
